Job description

Datacentrix offices in Cape Town is looking employ a Senior Network Engineer with SD-WAN experience. Successful candidate will perform day to day internal networking maintenance as well as the design of customer networks

Job Description:

• Thorough understanding of switching, routing and their related technologies. BGP, OSPF champion. TCP/IP, IP Addressing (v4 and v6), CIDR and DNS. Excellent understanding of Service Provider and Enterprise architecture. Experience implementing QoS, PBR, VPN, MPLS and SD-WAN
• Take the lead in planning, spec’ing and building of network solutions for the client’s customers.
• Maintain the client’s national network.
• Undertake data network fault investigations and implement resolutions in local and wide area environments.
• Ensure proper configuration and deployment of ISP or customer networking equipment while adhering to the client’s standards and practices.
• Liaise with Project Management team, Network engineers and Service Desk engineers on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

1. Qualifications - Cisco CCNP essential, CCIE advantageous. Mikrotik MTCRE essential and MTCINE preferred

2. Riverbed, Meraki or Fortinet SD-WAN experience essential

3. Basic Linux experience

4. At least 5 years’ experience as an ISP Network Engineer or in Network Administration and Maintenance

Additional Requirements:

· Demonstrate ability to problem solve, identify alternative solutions and communicate best practices.

· Self-starter who is able to work with little supervision and able to work effectively in a team.

· Well-spoken with excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.

· Clear criminal record.

· Have a positive and self-motivated attitude.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet agreed deadlines.
