Job description

To provide a business management support function through the coordination of various strategic initiatives and operations management interventions, thereby supporting the Executive and the team to achieve effective and efficient application of resources.

To support the Executive and the business unit team with various activities, with particular emphasis on Business Planning, Performance Management, Project Coordination, Risk Management, Change Management, Operational and Administrative functions, while facilitating proper governance and compliance with legislation and best practices within the framework of the Bank's policies and guidelines.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Business Planning at Divisional level
  2. Coordinate and contribute to the development and implementation of the Corporate plan and Divisional plan to execute agreed strategic objectives.
  3. Work with team members and secure cooperation from colleagues and divisional team members to implement key strategies, projects, and initiatives identified for the division.
  4. Coordinate, monitor, track, and report on these strategies and initiatives, including recommending enhancements or changes as required.
  5. Provide business intelligence to the Executive by conducting studies, research, and staying informed on issues affecting areas of responsibility, which inform the direction of the Business Unit.
  6. Coordinate and manage the development of the Divisional budget and resources—short and long term—and ensure alignment with the Divisional plan.
  7. Strategic Coordination and Preparation for Meetings and Engagements
  8. Prepare the divisional annual calendar.
  9. Engage with the Executive's direct reports and prepare agendas for Management Committee (Manco) meetings.
  10. Track all resolutions and action items from Manco meetings.
  11. Coordinate or prepare concept documents, reports, memos, letters, and presentations for the Executive or General Managers as needed.
  12. Research, collate relevant information, scrutinize complex submissions or reports, and provide feedback to the Executive.
  13. Operational and Divisional Efficiencies
  14. Support the Executive in establishing and maintaining effective business support functions, systems, processes, and procedures to improve efficiencies and customer experience.
  15. Manage the flow of information and documents within the division.
  16. Monitor and evaluate efficiencies, identify opportunities for improvement, and champion new service delivery methods.
  17. Act as the Budget Controller for the Executive, monitoring and reporting on variances.
  18. Assist in coordinating and monitoring the budget, supporting business unit managers.
  19. Risk, Governance, and Ethics Management
  20. Represent the Division as a Risk champion.
  21. Monitor business continuity and Enterprise Risk Management aspects.
  22. Identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  23. Update risk register and track progress.
  24. Project Management
  25. Plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate strategic projects to support desired outcomes.
  26. Monitor project goals within time frames and budgets.
  27. Coordinate high-level meetings and events related to projects.
  28. Divisional Performance Reporting
  29. Develop and manage business unit performance monitoring processes.
  30. Enable effective reporting on business performance at the divisional level.
  31. Coordinate performance review sessions, develop scorecards, and define performance measures.
  32. Coordinate and prepare performance reports for stakeholders, including submissions for quarterly or periodic reports and sub-committee and EXCO reports.
Preferred Minimum Education and Experience
  • Postgraduate tertiary qualification in Business Administration or related field.
  • 5–8 years relevant experience as a Business Manager, Management Consultant, Project Manager, or Executive Coordinator.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a comparable environment.
  • Knowledge of Analytics relevant to the function, Legislation, Strategic Report Writing, Microsoft Office, Strategic Planning and Processes, Governance and Risk, Sub-committee meetings, and Board procedures.
