Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team, based in Sandton. The role involves providing 2nd level escalation support for BAU teams, ensuring network and client connectivity platforms meet or exceed availability standards.
Key responsibilities include ensuring quality, performance, and resiliency in SLAs, interpreting the technology infrastructure roadmap, and designing innovative network solutions.
Results Delivery
- Contribute to crafting the Network and Client Connectivity infrastructure strategy.
- Design and innovate infrastructure solutions to maximize performance, reliability, and resiliency.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, with quality, and add value to the business.
- Identify potential issues and propose solutions, applying cost-effective principles.
- Provide input into the IM budget for infrastructure platforms.
Stakeholder Management
- Build relationships with colleagues and clients, promoting openness and trust.
- Engage with client network teams to understand connectivity requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and leverage vendor networks.
- Mentor and coach team members.
Process Management
- Plan and execute maintenance, upgrades, and optimization activities.
- Seek continuous improvement in technology and processes.
- Maintain technical fluency and ensure high availability of network infrastructure.
- Support BAU operations and resolve issues promptly.
Design and Implementation
- Lead infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
- Develop strategic plans for capacity and modernization.
- Document requirements and manage delivery timelines.
Self-Management and Innovation
- Enhance personal capabilities and stay updated with technological advances.
- Research and implement continuous improvement processes.
- Contribute to innovative solutions and upskill team members.
Qualifications and Experience
- CCNA, CCNP, or similar; CCIE is an advantage.
- 10+ years IT experience, with 6+ years in Network Administration and 5+ years with Cisco Technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft, Linux, and Open Source OS networks.
- Knowledge of financial industry connectivity requirements and protocols like OSPF, BGP.
