Job summary

Lotus HR and Recruitment seeks a senior mechanical asset manager in Durban to oversee fleet and site equipment across several workshops. You will drive performance, safety and cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with Hazchem and transport laws.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering or Diesel Mechanic qualification with 10+ years in asset management, plus a valid driver’s licence and clean record. You will report to the corporate head office and lead a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or Diesel Mechanic qualification with 10+ years of asset management experience.
• Experience leading a diverse team across multiple workshops with regulatory compliance.
• Strong staffing and performance recordkeeping and technical support experience.
• Experience in supplier management, servicing scheduling and asset profitability.
• Sound knowledge of HSE, ISO 9001 and 14001, budgeting and corporate reporting.
• Valid driver's licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate group assets across multiple workshops.
• Ensure Hazchem, environmental and road transport legislation compliance.
• Manage asset licensing, insurances/claims and workshop documentation.
• Schedule servicing of equipment/fleet and ensure profitability.
• Provide technical support and maintain staffing and performance records.
