• A Bachelor's degree in Music Composition, Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in music composition and production for interactive media.
• Expert proficiency in DAWs: Cubase, Logic Pro, Ableton Live or Pro Tools.
• Strong knowledge of music theory, orchestration, and various genres.
• Experience with Wwise and FMOD and game engine integration.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

About the Role

Our client, an innovative studio at the intersection of technology and the arts, is seeking a highly creative Senior Music Producer and Composer for interactive media projects, including video games, virtual reality experiences, and digital installations. Based in Nelspruit, this role requires a visionary artist capable of crafting original musical scores and soundscapes that deeply engage audiences and enhance narrative immersion. You will be responsible for composing, producing, and implementing adaptive music systems that respond dynamically to user interaction and gameplay. Key Responsibilities

• Compose original musical scores and soundscapes for interactive media projects, ensuring artistic quality and alignment with project vision.


• Develop adaptive and dynamic music systems that respond to in-game events, player actions, and environmental changes.


• Produce high-quality audio assets using industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and virtual instruments.


• Collaborate closely with game designers, directors, and sound engineers to integrate music effectively into interactive experiences.


• Implement music and audio assets using middleware such as Wwise or FMOD, and within game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).


• Oversee the sound design and music production process, ensuring deadlines and budget are met.


• Conduct research into musical styles and thematic elements relevant to project requirements.


• Mix and master all musical compositions to professional broadcast standards.


• Stay current with advancements in interactive audio technology and music production techniques.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Music Composition, Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.


• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in music composition and production, with a strong portfolio showcasing work in interactive media (games, VR, etc.).


• Expert proficiency in DAWs such as Cubase, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Pro Tools.


• Extensive knowledge of music theory, harmony, orchestration, and various musical genres.


• Proven experience with interactive audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engine integration.


• Strong understanding of signal processing, sound synthesis, and mixing techniques.


• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.


• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in Nelspruit.


• Experience composing in various styles, from orchestral to electronic, tailored to diverse project needs.
