Job description

We are seeking a skilled Senior MS Project Planner to join our team in Vanderbijlpark. The ideal candidate must be proficient in reading mechanical drawings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Matric Grade 12 or N3
• Technical qualification is advantageous
• Minimum of 10 years experience in Fabrication and Engineering

EXPERIENCE:

• Understanding of Manufacturing and Engineering processes
• Ability to work under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, effective decisions
• Numerate with planning and analytical skills
• Proficient IT skills
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Advanced MS Project skills (Expert level)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedule projects ensuring optimal resource utilization
• Update schedules daily based on project progress
• Provide forward load planning for projects
• Supply Project Engineers with accurate schedules for reporting
• Provide schedules to the Sales department for quotations
• Manage project setup, including opening/loading projects with relevant information
• Plan projects (BOMs) according to scope, drawings, sketches, and specifications discussed in handover/engineering meetings
• Review planning on route sheets based on relevant information
• Generate scheduling adjustments due to scope changes, NCRs, or change notices, and communicate with Superintendents and Foremen during manufacturing
• Release Works Orders
• Perform ad hoc duties as required to support the team
