Placements24 seeks a Senior iOS/Swift Mobile Application Developer for hybrid work in Polokwane, Limpopo. You will own end‑to‑end iOS development, from concept through deployment, collaborating with design, product, and backend teams to deliver performant, user‑friendly applications.

You will mentor junior developers, stay current with iOS trends, and contribute to feature architecture while ensuring app quality and robust releases to the App Store.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in iOS application development.
• Proven expertise in Swift and iOS frameworks (UIKit, SwiftUI).
• Strong understanding of iOS lifecycle and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic leader in the mobile technology sector, is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Mobile Application Developer specializing in iOS/Swift . This role is based in our client's modern offices in Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA , offering a flexible Hybrid work model that combines office collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of innovative and user-friendly iOS applications, contributing to the entire lifecycle from concept and design through to deployment and maintenance. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain advanced applications for the iOS platform using Swift .
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including designers, product managers, and backend engineers to define and ship new features.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and improve application performance.
• Work with outside data sources and APIs.
• Implement UI designs and ensure a seamless user experience across different iOS devices and versions.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest iOS development trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Contribute to the architectural decisions for new mobile features and applications.
• Manage the release of applications to the App Store.
• Mentor junior iOS developers and share knowledge within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in iOS application development.
• Proven expertise in programming with Swift and proficiency with iOS frameworks (UIKit, SwiftUI, etc.).
• Strong understanding of the iOS development lifecycle and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
• Experience with consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON data.
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git .
• Experience with performance and memory tuning tools (e.g., Instruments).
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for mobile apps.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a Hybrid environment.
• Experience with cross‑platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) is a plus.
