Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mobile Application Developer specializing in iOS to design, develop, and maintain high-quality native apps. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improve existing functionality in a fully remote setup within South Africa.

The role requires 5+ years in native iOS development, strong Swift and Objective-C skills, deep iOS SDK knowledge, and experience with UIKit/SwiftUI.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent innovator in the mobile technology sector, is seeking a talented Senior Mobile Application Developer specializing in iOS to join their team. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality iOS applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new features to life and enhance existing functionalities. This is a fully remote position , offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa, with support for home office setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C.
• Design and implement user-friendly interfaces adhering to Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other engineers to define app features and user flows.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Implement robust unit and integration tests to ensure application stability and performance.
• Integrate with backend APIs and services to enable seamless data flow.
• Optimize application performance for speed, responsiveness, and resource efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues reported by QA or users.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS development trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Mentor junior iOS developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in native iOS application development.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality iOS applications to the App Store.
• Strong proficiency in Swift, with solid experience in Objective-C.
• Deep understanding of the iOS SDK, Xcode, and associated development tools.
• Experience with UI frameworks such as UIKit and SwiftUI.
• Familiarity with common iOS design patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM, VIPER).
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and JSON.
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Understanding of mobile security best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, suitable for a remote team environment.
• Experience with Core Data or other persistent storage solutions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for mobile applications is a plus.
