Job summary

Mr D, a division of the Takealot Group, is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to develop robust ML models in the ecommerce domain. You will work with customer data, apply best practices, and contribute to the evolving ML roadmap.

You’ll join a dynamic team reporting to the Machine Learning Engineering Manager, with opportunities to grow within Takealot Group and gain exposure to advanced ML frameworks and production deployments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field with software experience.
• 5–10+ years applying machine learning to real-world problems or 5–10+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong understanding of statistics, modeling and ML techniques.
• Experience in an agile, hands-on team.
• Experience with Python and Linux.
• Experience with BigQuery, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, Pandas.
• Experience building scalable data pipelines for ML workflows and deploying ML to production.
• Data mining and big data experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, build, evaluate, and productionise ML models.
• Work with a firehose of customer data and derive actionable insights.
• Touch all business areas in your domain.
• Brainstorm and implement new ideas for use cases.
• Collaborate on design and code reviews and stay current with ML developments.
