AMC Consultants (AMC) seeks a Senior Mining Consultant / Principal Mining Consultant to lead strategy optimization, bridging technical solutions with commercial mining outcomes. The role is based in South Africa with hybrid work options.

You will join the Strategy Optimization team, supported by global experts, applying HoV modelling to assess options and unlock value across the mining value chain for diverse client projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering; higher qualification preferred but not essential.
• Principal position asks for 15+ years’ mining experience with strong technical foundations and operations experience.
• Evidence of independent work, strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Commitment to high ethical standards and alignment with AMC values.

Responsibilities

• Carry out numerical modelling using the AMC Hill of Value process to uncover strategic insights for clients.
• Lead thought leadership on cut-off grade and strategic optimization topics; publish content and facilitate workshops.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development activities.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver high-quality reports, presentations and project documentation.
• Support company-wide consulting and project management activities and uphold AMC’s values and standards.
