Placements24 is sourcing a Senior Mine Surveyor for a mining operation in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role features a hybrid model with on-site surveying and office planning responsibilities, requiring experience across surface and underground works.

The ideal candidate holds a Mine Surveying degree, professional registration if possible, and at least six years in mine surveying, including CAD/GIS workflows. Strong communication and team leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mine Surveying or related field.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (PLATO) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine surveying (surface & underground).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Surpac, Leapfrog and modern surveying instruments.
• Strong cadastral, engineering and topographical surveying principles.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise surface and underground surveys using total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Process data and prepare mine plans, sections, and contour maps.
• Integrate survey data with mine planning & geological software.
• Maintain survey control networks for the mine site.

You will be responsible for precise measurement and mapping of the mine's surface and underground workings, ensuring accuracy in geological modeling, mine planning, and production calculations.
