Job summary

TFG is seeking a Planner III in South Africa to mentor the Merchandise Planning Team, project future sales across key categories, and optimise planning processes. You will manage range assortments, replenishment, and distribution strategies to support sales and inventory objectives.

The role emphasizes data-driven analysis, commercial decision-making, and collaboration with Buying, Sourcing, and Supply Chain to deliver category objectives and improve performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum completed National Diploma or Degree in Business Management, BCom or related field, with majors in Finance, Statistics, Economics or Mathematics.
• Minimum of 5 years' proven Merchandise Planning experience within a retail environment.
• Strong numerical, analytical and strategic thinking capabilities; proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Mentor the Merchandise Planning Team and drive planning performance across categories.
• Manage range assortments, replenishment, and distribution strategies to meet sales and inventory objectives.
• Develop category financial plans across sales, stock, margin, GP, closing stock and markdown.
• Project future sales and develop accurate forecasts to support category performance and objectives.
• Analyse sales and trading performance to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
