Job description

An opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health Assessment Unit. We are looking for a highly motivated nurse to join our team.

Crisis services (including Braeside, MHAT, OOH's triage, night NTL's, and OOH's CPN's) are currently undergoing organisational change. You will be part of service developments aimed at enhancing crisis services. Some developments include on-site assessments within persons' localities/homes and joint working with SAS and Police Scotland for joint response and assessments.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of assessing major mental illness or distress. You must be able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating sound clinical decision-making skills.

The post involves assessing mental state and risks such as suicide, self-harm, and violence within a holistic assessment framework. Some assessments may be nurse-led, others conducted jointly with medical colleagues, including police S297 assessments. The team provides a 24/7 triage service to Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, and NHS24.

You will be expected to work a 24-hour shift pattern. Part-time work will be considered.
