Job summary

Network Finance is seeking a seasoned project engineer (Mechanical or Chemical) in Gauteng to drive projects from concept through commissioning and handover. Lead multi-disciplinary teams, develop detailed cost estimates, and manage budgets to ensure safe, compliant delivery.

The role requires 8+ years in project engineering within industrial plants, strong commissioning and handover expertise, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• Requires a BEng degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in a project engineering role.
• Proven costing, budgeting, and commercial project control experience.
• Strong background in commissioning and project handover.
• Experience in industrial/process plants (manufacturing, petrochemical, water treatment, energy, or similar).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects from concept through to commissioning and close-out.
• Develop detailed project cost estimates and manage budgets.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical and commercial documentation.
• Provide regular progress reporting to stakeholders.
