Job description

Bring your mechanical design expertise to a dynamic engineering team delivering innovative factory and facility projects.

Is this you?

You're a meticulous problem-solver who thrives on technical challenges and enjoys turning complex concepts into practical, efficient engineering solutions. You're logical, analytical, and comfortable working both independently and within a high-performing team. With strong leadership skills and a "get things done" attitude, you keep calm under pressure and maintain a sharp focus on detail. You communicate clearly, manage your time effectively, and take pride in consistently delivering quality work.

What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)

You'll take ownership of end-to-end project engineering responsibilities, from facility and mechanical services design (HVAC, steam, water, compressed air) to utilities layouts, mechanical structures, and MEP coordination. You'll manage multidisciplinary projects, conduct feasibility studies, and create detailed costing and proposal documents. With exposure to factory design and the FMCG sector, you'll bring your experience in AutoCAD 2D, MS Projects, and process engineering into a collaborative environment where innovation is valued and technical rigour is a given.

Where you'll be doing it

You'll join a fast-growing, highly respected engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering cost-effective, technically sound industrial solutions. The team is known for its plant design and operational expertise, offering diverse and challenging projects across sectors. Expect a supportive and flexible culture, modern technology, excellent learning opportunities, and a workplace that values professionalism, honesty, and continuous improvement.

What you'll need

You'll need a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, with 5-10 years' experience in project engineering within manufacturing or industrial environments. Experience with mechanical services, MEP, AutoCAD 2D, feasibility studies, and costing is essential. Exposure to FMCG environments, factory design, or fire/building services is advantageous. A valid driver's licence, your own vehicle, and willingness to travel are required. You must be based in Cape Town or open to relocating at your own cost.

What you'll get

In addition to a competitive salary, you'll be working on technically interesting projects, benefit from a flexible work schedule, and a positive, team-oriented environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your engineering career with an organisation that values quality, creativity, and real-world solutions.
