Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive mechanical design experience with heavy equipment/mining machinery.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software and PDM systems (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
• Strong experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural/dynamic analysis.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine mechanical components and systems for heavy mining equipment (excavators, drills, haul trucks).
• Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Perform advanced mechanical analysis including FEA for stress, fatigue, and vibration.
• Select materials, bearings, seals, and power transmission components for harsh environments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, service, and operations to ensure robust, maintainable, and cost-effective designs.
• Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement design changes.
