Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience in automotive.
• Proficient with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulations.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, materials and manufacturing.
• Experience with product testing and validation in automotive context.
• Analytical problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards (ISO/TS 16949).
• Hybrid work readiness in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and systems for automotive projects using CAD.
• Run performance simulations (FEA/CFD) to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure production-ready designs.
• Develop and execute test plans for prototypes and components.
• Analyze test data and implement design improvements.
• Maintain engineering documentation including drawings and BOMs.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards and customer specs.
