Senior Mechanical Draughtsman

Reporting to the Mechanical Engineer, you will be required to assist the drawing office by creating 3D assemblies along with their respective components and fully detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor. Ideally, you would also be proficient with different measuring tools (Vernier, Micrometer, etc.) to reverse engineer sample parts.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

1. Provide design/drawing support to the Engineer.
2. 3D modelling and creation of working drawings according to company's standard.
3. Creation of 3D models & drawings from 'off the sample' parts.
4. Preparation of manufacturing project files.
5. Creation of hydraulic schematic drawings.
6. Sourcing of components from suppliers.
7. Technical assistance to the workshop staff during the production process.

POST REQUIREMENTS:

1. Mechanical Draughting Certificate or equivalent.
2. Min 3 years' experience within the manufacturing environment.
3. Min 3 years' experience with 3D CAD modelling software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
4. Good understanding of mechanical systems and their function.
5. Able to work independently or interactively as a member of a team.
6. Self-motivated with a creative and innovative mind.
7. Proficient with different measuring tools (Vernier, Micrometer, etc.).
8. Good communication skills (verbal, written & interpersonal).
9. Valid Code B Driver's Licence.
