Basic Requirements

• Formal Tertiary education: N. Dip or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• Or Mechatronics Degree
• Driver's License: Code 8 - required
• Languages: English (speak, read, and write), Afrikaans (speak, read, and write), German (Advantageous)

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a design capacity
• Site Experience & Project Leader Experience
• Designed 5+ new developed machines independently
• Competent in performing full machine calculations independently
• In-depth FEA experience independently
• Full understanding of material specifications & processes

Job Objectives

• Collaborate within the design team to deliver engineering designs and solutions tailored to customer requirements and specifications

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Understand facility purpose and objectives
• Define and set up process flowcharts and sequence of operation for facilities
• Initiate new design solutions to improve cycle time, reduce costs, and enhance installations
• Establish effective design solutions to meet specifications
• Develop and research product solutions to ensure compliance with design objectives and project specifics
• Perform advanced calculations of stresses, forces, and accuracies
• Design and verify technical designs; specify components for procurement
• Participate in project meetings and contribute positively
• Integrate control system requirements into designs (Advanced)
• Coordinate with design consultants and suppliers confidently and constructively
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding requirements and changes
• Follow ISO procedures for project handover, concept development, and design
• Create design release packages and documentation for manufacturing
• Develop final designs within budget constraints
