Job summary

Tronox is seeking an Asset Improvement Engineer to serve as a mechanical asset management SME within the T&I department for Northern Operations. You will drive asset performance, reliability strategies, and lifecycle support to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities include developing asset strategies, upgrades, and life cycle costing, while aligning with SAP S/4HANA and other Operational Excellence initiatives. Heavy industry experience and professional registration are advantageous.

Qualifications

• BEng./BSc./BTech. Mechanical Engineering (NQF Level 7) is mandatory.
• Reliability Engineering experience is required within heavy industry.
• Professional registration with ECSA is an added advantage.
• Driver’s license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering strategies, standards, and programs to optimise asset performance and integrity.
• Ensure a healthy, safe, and compliant work environment.
• Manage feasibility, design, planning, construction, and commissioning of major mechanical plant upgrades.
• Work with maintenance teams to identify, plan, and prioritise asset improvements and asset integrity registers.
• Coordinate Asset Integrity Programs and provide support to PMs, Reliability Engineers, and Maintenance Managers.
• Assist in energy efficiency and decarbonization programs; provide training (RWM, RCFA, RCM).
• Drive MR Capital updates for the 5 Year Capital Plan.
