Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Master Technician in Johannesburg to join a leading automotive dealership group. The role requires deep diagnostic capabilities and hands-on expertise across engine, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a qualified Automotive Technician.
Master Technician certification or equivalent advanced training is highly desirable.
Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex engine, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical systems.
Proficiency with modern automotive diagnostic equipment and software.
Strong understanding of vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the automotive field.

Responsibilities

Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides.
Provide accurate estimates for repair costs and timeframes to service advisors.
Collaborate with service advisors and parts specialists to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Mentor and guide junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Stay updated with the latest automotive technologies, trends, and manufacturer specifications.
Perform quality checks on completed work before returning vehicles to customers.
