Job description

LANCEWOOD is a division of Libstar Operations (Pty) Ltd and part of JSE listed Libstar Holdings Limited.LANCEWOOD was founded in and operates 3 production facilities based in George, Swellendam and Athlone in the Cape Region.Lancewood's key focus is to continuously deliver superior quality products to their consumers.You will be based in the Bellville Offices in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Reporting to the Marketing and Innovation Executive,the Senior Marketing Manager will develop, implement, and execute strategic marketing plans aimed at attracting and retaining consumers.

This pivotal role involves overseeing market research, brand management, digital marketing, advertising campaigns, and overall marketing initiatives to drive business growth and strengthen brand positioning.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to) : Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.

Drive and manage the innovation strategy of the brand.

Plan and oversee marketing campaigns, ensuring effectiveness and return on investment (ROI).

Conduct market research to identify customer trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth.

Manage the creation of marketing materials, including digital content, adverts, and promotional collateral.

Manage all agency contracts and ensure relationships are effectively managed.

Manage the brand look and feel across all channels.

Manage the packaging design process ensuring artwork is in line with the brand guidelines as well as ensuring legal compliance.

Lead end to end project management and communication for marketing and cross functional initiatives, including NPD, ensuring milestones are met and objectives achieved.

Review and optimize processes where applicable and roll out the refined process to the business.

Oversee brand positioning and ensure consistency in messaging across all channels.

Coordinate with sales, product development, and other departments to align marketing efforts.

Oversee the consumer complaints communication.

Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics to optimize strategies.

Manage the category and brand profitability.

Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring maximum ROI.

Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals.

Stay up to date with industry trends, e-commerce tools and emerging marketing technologies.

Must be able to analyze and derive meaningful insights from data.

Ability to understand and influence the Profit & Loss of categories, brands and products.

Effective budget allocations, development and management.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal abilities.

Creativity and ability to develop innovative marketing strategies.

Excellent analytical skills for interpreting data and market trends.

Proficiency in digital marketing and social media marketing.

Strong knowledge of marketing analytics and CRM tools.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.

Excellent relationship management and influencing skills.

Ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve project goals.

Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.

Passionate about food, baking and cooking.

To be considered, we require a tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or related field (Postgraduate qualification will be advantageous),minimum 10 years FMCG foods industry experience in marketing of which at least 3-5 years you have functioned as a Marketing Manager – with a successful track record of leading marketing campaigns, which have positively impacted brand and business performance, proven experience in full agency management.Furthermore, we require that you have mastered the art of working with relevant digital marketing tools, analytics, and branding strategies.You need a valid driver's license with own transportation and must be willing to travel as required.
