MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB :
TO CARRY OUT SALES WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT AS A “SELLING SALES MANAGER”
- The main purpose of this position is to supervise a well-organized and profitable New and Used Car department.
- Successful outcomes will be considered under the following conditions:

- Timely service, meeting/exceeding client requirements/expectations.
- Follow-up systems and processes.
- Profitable business, i.e., targets within budget.
RELATIONSHIPS AND PERSONAL ACTIVITIES :
- Directly responsible to: Dealer Principal
- Responsible for: Sales Staff, Drivers, and Cleaners.
- Relationships with: Other company managers, Service Manager, Sales Managers, Financial Manager, Parts Manager, Manufacturer, Suppliers.
LIMITS OF AUTHORITY :
- Operational: Authorization to order vehicles or purchase/trade-in vehicles within agreed targets and forecasts.
- Authority to proceed on credit sales applications and determine discounts within agreed limits.
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Conduct sales meetings, ensuring that relevant information is available for business decisions, providing feedback on current performance and targets, and allowing all staff to give input on matters, discussing CSI results and actions.
- Control all costs as per budget.
- Control debtors by achieving set turnaround times.
- Perform financial, productivity, and sales reporting accurately and timely to achieve expected norms and standards.
- Manage business activities through hands-on interactive processes, being knowledgeable about all business activities, issues, and problems in the department; proactively solving problems where needed and evaluating productivity measures.
- Manage human resources by attracting, developing, and retaining competent employees, ensuring that staff issues are proactively addressed.
- Ensure all facilities operate in terms of risk management standards by conducting physical checks.
- Ensure that sales executives are competent and receive appropriate training when needed.
- Create marketing awareness for the sales area, utilizing customer feedback, direct sales, CSI summary, and increased brand awareness, ensuring marketing meets target market in line with manufacturers’ marketing approach.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING :
- Management and marketing skills, knowledge, and experience.
- Ability to manage and administer a department, providing organizational systems and leadership.
- Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle legislation and trade practices.
- Able to motivate a sales team to achieve objectives.
- Experience in Sales/Retail/Business Development roles.
