Job Purpose :
To lead and expand the strategic direction through Market Structure Research, Market Microstructure Design, Trade Execution Functionality advisory services, Market Development, and Client Relationship Management across all asset classes.
Minimum requirements for Job :
Minimum Experience :
- 10+ years Data Science and programming experience.
- 10+ years in financial markets covering diverse asset classes.
- Extensive experience in technology and business process requirements, business case development, and project administration.
Knowledge and Skills required :
- Expert in Trading Technology across multiple asset classes
- Advanced data analysis skills to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Proven ability in database management systems to query and extract data.
- Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice within the organization and the industry.
Position Responsibilities :
Deliver Business Results (60%)
- Provide strategic thinking on the dynamics of Market Structure in South Africa and internationally to ensure delivery against departmental strategy.
- Provide input into the Groups strategic thinking informed by a thorough analysis of data.
- Provide input into microstructure design through research and benchmarking against international exchanges to understand trading patterns.
- Apply market microstructure principles to produce relevant market quality metrics that informs the companys liquidity strategy, execution functionality and support the generation of revenue.
Effective Process Management (30%)
- Profile and rank clients according to revenue; trading activity and other metrics in order identify product gaps; track Asset Class profitability and drive Business Development
- Maintain market structure analytics assets, i.e. code repository; databases; vendor contracts and SLAs on the companys proprietary; 3rd party databases and font-end reports / views).
- Build strategic Stock Exchange; Industry and Global networks / relationships of thought leaders through utilizing social media platforms, market related conferences, road shows and training interventions to grow the client base.
Self-Management (5%)
- Continuous personal development in alignment with market trends and technological advancements.
Talent Management (5%)
- Lead initiatives to attract, develop, and retain talent within the organization, ensuring knowledge transfer and upskilling in market structure complexities across all asset classes.
