Job description

Our client in the telecom sector is looking for a Senior Manager: Value Propositions.

This is a contract role for 6 months. The role involves helping the company become the preferred partner for SME businesses in their digitalization and transformation journey by providing leadership and hands-on direction to a cross-functional team of Product, Customer Value Management, and Sales members to deliver relevant, market-leading propositions.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership
  1. Market Research: Understand customer needs, preferences, and pain points. Conduct deep research to understand what motivates customers to choose one proposition over another (Focus Groups, Secondary Data, etc). Gather data on market trends, competitor propositions, and industry dynamics.
  2. Value Proposition Design: Design propositions based on customer insights and needs. Define benefits and advantages of the propositions.
  3. Market Testing: Test propositions in the market with customers. Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) and fine-tune propositions. Support market development and assist sales in selling the initial units.
  4. Go-To-Market (GTM) Design: Work with sales to define channels to market. Collaborate with marketing to design campaigns that drive demand. Take overall responsibility for revenue and market share growth in the SME segment. Coordinate with industry vertical leads and teams to unlock growth in scaling industries and strategic accounts. Engage with internal and external stakeholders and manage partners related to segment growth.
Must-have technical / professional qualifications
  • Matric
  • 3-year business degree or related industry qualification
  • Post-graduate business degree or diploma is an advantage
  • 5-8 years of experience in B2B product management, client value management, or segment marketing
  • Experience in ICT or financial services is essential
