Job description

Our client in the mining industry is looking for a Senior Manager Supply Chain to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of explosive materials and equipment to support safe and efficient mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Technical Management

  • Manage supply chain integration points (P&O, inbound, outbound) through audits and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure long-term inventory accuracy and mass balance; maintain equipment and resource efficiency.
  • Provide strategic supply chain guidance; identify risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain ISO certification compliance through regular audits and corrective actions.
  • Drive BBBEE and ESD initiatives; lead transformation and change processes.
  • Ensure ethical and compliant supplier sourcing through audits and performance reviews.

Strategic Management

  • Contribute to organizational strategy by aligning with key business drivers.

Operational Planning

  • Develop and implement departmental plans with clear KPIs and project timelines.

Policy & Procedure Management

  • Oversee process development, ensure compliance, and correct inefficiencies.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Prepare budgets; monitor and manage expenditure with corrective actions.

Risk Management

  • Manage information security and disaster recovery.
  • Develop and maintain departmental risk frameworks.

SHE Management

  • Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance through training and issue resolution.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage internal and external stakeholders; support industry initiatives.

People Management

  • Develop and mentor staff; ensure HR policy compliance and address issues.

Requirements

  • B.Tech / Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Supply Chain Management/Logistics or similar
  • Post graduate qualification in Business Management advantageous
  • 8 to 12 years in supply chain management in the mining/petrochemical/explosives sector
  • 7 to 10 years senior management experience
