Job description

Job Title: Senior Manager - Strategic Sourcing

We are representing a leading Heavy Manufacturing company seeking a Senior Manager - Strategic Sourcing based in Johannesburg.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a three-year sourcing strategy for raw materials across all business units, aligned with technical and operational requirements. Additionally, they will collaborate with the Strategy team on a longer-term strategy (five to ten years).

The role requires ensuring the sourcing strategy incorporates industry best practices and evolving market technologies related to primary and secondary raw materials, scrap, and logistics. The manager will also assess and develop market participants within the supply chain.

Requirements:
  • Applicable B. Honours or B. Eng Degree, preferably in Metallurgy (additional advantage)
  • Management Development Programme or MBA (preferable)
  • Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in operational or technical environments
  • Experience in Commercial and Supply Chain environments
  • Strong metallurgical knowledge and supply chain management understanding
