Job description

RPO Recruitment’s client in the retail industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Manager Procurement (Grain) to join their team in the Western Cape.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the efficient and timely execution of the grain category strategy, understanding the impact of procurement on the business.
• Manage procurement, inventory, and stock of grain and related services at a national level, including vendor and contract management for the grain portfolio.
• Ensure financial management and budget controls are adhered to.
• Maintain good governance across all aspects of grain category management.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with customers and internal/external stakeholders to facilitate optimal procurement solutions.
• Lead a high-impact team and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
• Drive automation and optimization of the grain procurement system, including reporting and trend analysis.
• Develop consumer-facing content to promote the company's products and brands.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in BCom, Agriculture Economics, or related field. JSE Agricultural Products and Derivative Dealers Exam is advantageous.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in grain procurement.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement systems.
