KeyPerformanceObjectives
- Develop and execute Customer GroupPaymentsStrategy
- Manage the end to end payments roadmap, and create initiates to positively influence the payments ecosystem
- Drive Fintech innovation and strategy across the Showmax org and partners
- Manageand influence the Payments CX design and conversion rates across platforms, including digital and non digital payments
- Drivethe improvement in the CX Pay journey across all markets
- Business case generation to support short- and medium-termplans
- Ideas generation / continuous improvement / analysis of RCA
- Manage commercials in respect to strategy and commissions, both internally and with partners
- Drive cost saving across payments including process, and technology
- Ensure roadmap and execution is effectively managed with key external partners
- Produce presentations for senior leadership and board level
Partner Management
- Manage key stakeholders and ensure strategic alignment with internal and external partners
- Ensure the payments and execution strategy is articulated and well understood across key partners
- Drive out new partner and payment based initiatives where needed
Product Ownership and Governance
- Drive continuous payment insights and analytics and manage relationship with internal analytic teams
- End to end ownership of the payments and strategy
- Manage the implementation and impact analysis of any payment changes
- Manage operational impact and communication of incidents for payments to executive leadership
- Identify and translate high level, conceptual user requirements into detailed specifications
- Implement knowledge management and ensure measures are in place to safeguard knowledge retention.
- Provision of end-to-endservice metrics in line with reportingrequirement
- Documentation of payment processes, information, and reportrequirements
- Research best practices, industry standards and trends onpayments and fintech
Stakeholder Management
- Participation and deliverables ownership of all relevant projects and sub projects
- Be the primary contact for stakeholder engagement of payment impacted initiatives across the group and externally
- Represent the payment team in driving demand and prioritization
- Ensuring cross functional skills, resource and IP sharing
- Liaise with all markets across Africa on payment improvement as input into the product roadmap
People Management
- Manage team members to ensure effective delivery of business unitobjectives
- Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching. Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members
- Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed
- Interview and recruit new members of the team, including determining appropriate compensation levels with input from HR
- Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met
- Review and update the department’s organisation structure and role description on at least an annual basis to ensure that they are fit for purpose and contain all the accountabilities of each team member
- Approve leave requests for team members and create leave plan to ensure adequate coverage
- When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from HC when required
- Resolve grievances raised by team members and escalate only ifrequired
- Address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance Improvement programme and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with
- Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts arerecognised
Qualifications Essential
- Degree in InformationSystems, Commerce, Engineering or similar qualification
- Post Graduate Degree is a must
- Masters degree either “In progress” or “Complete” is advantageous
- Fintech related certifications are advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in the payment and fintech industry across payment providers, platforms, payment methods (card interchange, wires, RTGS, cross border settlement, mobile wallets, etc.), technologies, processes (cash management operations / payment operations)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing a team and a proven track record in leading successful payments and billing teams
- Experience in enterprise architecture and digital is advantageous
- Management consulting experience will be advantageous
- Ability to define future payment strategy in areas such as Fintech and Digital technology
- Experience with Commerce and Digital platforms is advantageous
