Senior Manager: DevOps Platforms, Processes and Tooling

Fintech is entering a new phase where operational and commercial excellence has become critical for success. We at MTN believe this is a game changer in terms of our business strategy.

We are looking for an incumbent to join us as we build a successful business together. As part of your portfolio as a Senior Manager: DevOps Platforms, Processes and Tooling, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the strategy and implementation of DevOps processes and tooling across Group Finco to meet current and future enterprise software and application needs.

This includes DevSecOps, management of production and non-production environments, disaster recovery, cloud migration strategy and implementation, and operations management.

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the following DevOps & Engineering portfolios within the Technology Function:

1. Process Management
2. Testing & Tooling

You will be accountable for contributing to Finco's overall strategic goals through software and application development that meets and exceeds the intent of the design of the application.

You are required to keep abreast of current trends in applications development and design concepts and technologies. Additionally, you will support the GM Platform, DevOps & Engineering by providing monthly reports to the Fintech Executive and/or Group Finco Exco relating to progress made in accordance with the delivery of the DevOps & Engineering roadmap from both project, implementation, and performance perspectives.

The incumbent must have the following:

1. Minimum of 4-year tertiary degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in telecommunications, insurance, banking, mobile money, or software engineering.
3. Manager track record of 3-4 years or more; with at least 3 years' experience in telecommunications, software engineering, business-critical applications design and development.
4. Hands-on experience in managing, leading and implementing innovative insurance products and initiatives.
5. Entrepreneurial spirit, self-driven, and ability to motivate a fast-paced team.
6. Experience working across diverse cultures and geographies.
