Senior Manager: Commercial Business Development – Road Freight SSADP

Location: World City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

This role is responsible for implementing sales strategies, fostering client relationships, and identifying new opportunities across all our capabilities.

The focus is on assisting the Commercial Lead to expand current business clients and renew contracts.

A key focus area is to drive revenue and expand our market footprint through strategic sales and business development initiatives.

Job Context

The role is crucial for expanding the organization's market presence and client base.

This position supports the Commercial Lead in achieving set strategies for Road Freight, with a focus on the Operating Company.

Responsibilities include offering expertise, advice, and support related to the sales process.

Key Performance Areas
  • Develop BU Sales and BD strategy
  • Execute strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitive intelligence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery of products or services
  • Facilitate solution-selling within the Operating Company and drive CRM system implementation
  • Manage budgets, analyze financial performance, and optimize profitability
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products/services and communicate their value
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to foster customer service excellence
  • Contribute to operational efficiencies and improvement initiatives
  • Promote DP World’s principles, values, and culture, ensuring safety and ethical standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
