What will you do?
Position Purpose
To be responsible for the operational implementation of the group and function strategy through implementing the defined, integrated response to the external environment and strategy. Specifically, partnering with business to understand the Human Capital requirements that are required to achieve business strategy.
Position Specific Outputs
- Strategically partner with functional business to achieve business goals by integrating HC strategy to Functional area strategy
- Influence and ensure functional area alignment across HC value chain practices and processes
- Responsible to lead and manage HC team to ensure effective delivery of HC services
- Act as a trusted advisor to the functional leadership team and other key stakeholders, provide management support to the Functional Executives and management Team for HC delivery
- Detailed understanding of Change management as a project implementor
- Drive employee engagement and foster a positive work culture that aligns with the organisation’s values
Generic Objectives
- Conduct research as required and communicated by Skilled Leader
- Demonstrate excellent understanding of the Integrated Human Capital Model, SIPP and W(p) philosophy and how it relates to Practice
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of Human Capital System requirements and implications on Practice
- Keep abreast of Human Capital developments in marketplace and changes to legislation related to Practice
- Develop and document the practice and process with direction from Skilled Leader and peers (Practice Board)
- Consultation with internal and external stakeholders to create awareness of Practice and recommend improvements
- Develop operational plans to meet the defined delivery objectives, supporting and being supported by peer teams and areas of responsibility
- Optimise the core operational internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve operational conflicts
Accountabilities:
Compliance and Risk Management
- Legal, statutory and regulatory compliance on all requirements are implemented and maintained at defined standards for area of responsibility
- Operational structures, measures and frameworks for risk control, management and governance within the area of responsibility are implemented
- Ensure area of responsibility is a valuable contributor to the Afrocentric Group social awareness and corporate citizenship objectives and strategy
Financial Management
- Accountability for allocated cost centre budget, variances, reports and overall financial management
Operational Implementation of Strategy
- Plan and implement changes to the operations of the area of responsibility to respond to macro and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and the industry in general
- Provide input into and develop the business plan for the area of responsibility
- Ensure business plan is implemented in a manner that supports operational, quality and market imperatives
- Communicate business plan in alignment with strategic context and strategic implementation plans to ensure operational best practice and continuous improvement
Operational Leadership
- Accountability for the operational performance by team as per Human Capital frameworks and policies to ensure delivery to agreed standards and objectives
Qualification and Experience
Experience
- 10 years’ experience in Human Resource Management and Generalist Human Resources experience
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices and legislation.
Qualifications
- Honours Degree or similar qualification in Human Resource Management. Masters Degree or business-related qualification (advantageous)
Professional Membership:
- Professional registration with SABPP preferred
