Job summary

Snatch | Accounting & Finance Headhunters is recruiting a Management Accountant for an international accounting firm, Cape Town (Remote). You will manage core accounting for a portfolio of clients, producing management accounts, dashboards, budgets and forecasts.

You will work with senior finance professionals, implement AI tools to streamline processes, onboard new clients and mentor junior staff while building toward broader client leadership responsibilities over time.

Qualifications

• Qualified with CIMA/SAICA/SAIPA or equivalent.
• 2+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience with monthly management accounts and month-end close.
• Experience using Xero or Sage and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and dashboards across multiple clients.
• Maintain ledgers, reconciliations, journals, accruals and revenue recognition.
• Analyze performance, identify variances and provide client recommendations.
• Produce cash-flow forecasts and support budgets/forecasts.
• Onboard new clients and implement consistent accounting processes.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work.

Role Overview:

A growing outsourced finance services business supporting founder-led and investor-backed companies is seeking a Management Accountant to join its client service team. The role offers varied exposure across high-growth businesses and the opportunity to work in an AI-forward finance environment.

Working with senior finance professionals, you will manage core accounting and reporting across a portfolio of clients, from maintaining accurate ledgers through to producing management accounts, dashboards, budgets and forecasts. You will also improve finance processes, support junior team members and build towards broader client leadership responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, performance dashboards and supporting analysis across a portfolio of clients.
• Maintain accurate general ledgers, including balance-sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and appropriate revenue recognition.
• Analyse financial performance, investigate trends and variances, and translate findings into clear recommendations for clients.
• Produce cash-flow forecasts and support client teams with quarterly and annual budgeting.
• Onboard new clients and implement consistent accounting processes, automation tools and reporting routines.
• Identify and implement practical improvements that increase the accuracy, efficiency and value of finance delivery.
• Review work and mentor finance assistants and junior accounting team members.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CIMA, SAICA, SAIPA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification, with at least two years of post-qualification experience.
• Hands-on experience preparing monthly management accounts and completing core month-end accounting activities.
• Experience using Xero or Sage, supported by advanced Excel skills.
• Practical experience applying AI tools to streamline finance processes, automate recurring tasks or support analytical decision-making.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines across several clients or business units.
• Experience presenting financial reports, trends and variances in clear, practical language to clients or non-finance stakeholders.
• Exposure to start-up, technology, SaaS, founder-led or other high-growth businesses would be advantageous.

Salary & Benefits:

• R45,000 - R62,500 / month
• Quarterly performance assessments linked to a bonus scheme.
