Job summary

A leading recruitment agency has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Technician based in Olifantsfontein. The role involves attending to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, servicing and repairing equipment, and conducting safety inspections. Ideal candidates will be trade tested as Millwright with at least 6 years' experience, strong skills in fault finding on PLCs and hydraulics, and the ability to work independently under pressure. Competitive compensation and opportunities for overtime shifts are available.

Qualifications

• 6 years of post-qualification experience in maintenance.
• Experience with plastics machinery is an added advantage.
• Prepared to work standby, callouts, overtime, and shifts.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and with urgency.
• Willingness to standby, overtime, and continental shift work.

Responsibilities

• Attend to electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
• Service and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections according to statutory requirements.
• Maintain and upgrade equipment to improve performance.
• Carry out projects as required
• Conduct safety inspections per statutory requirements
• Maintain and upgrade equipment to improve performance and reduce costs
• Be familiar with Planned Maintenance Systems
• Complete work requisitions, reports and general administration

Maintenance: Senior Maintenance Technician (Plastic Manufacturing)

Location: Olifantsfontein (Johannesburg)

A large and established plastic packaging manufacturing concern has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Technician.

Key Responsibilities (But not limited to):

• Attend to electrical and mechanical breakdowns
• Service and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Preventative maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Carry out check lists on machinery
• Carry out projects
• Conduct safety inspections according to statutory requirements
• Maintain and upgrade equipment for improved performance and targets with reduction to maintenance costs
• Be familiar with Planned Maintenance Systems
• Complete work requisitions and reports and general administration as required

Key Requirements:

• Trade tested as a qualified Millwright with 6 years post qualifications experience
• Must have extensive experience in fault finding on PLC's, HMI's, Electronics, and Hydraulics
• Knowledge of plastics machinery would be an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure with a sense of urgency
• Prepared to work standby, callouts, overtime and additional shifts when required.
• Prepared to work on a continental shift system
• Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans
• Ability to work as a production/maintenance team
• Time keeping and punctuality with attention to detail is essential
• Physically fit and able to do physical work
