The role focuses on complex domestic and cross-border transactions, deal structuring, due diligence, and post‑transaction integration, with leadership responsibility for a talented team.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 10+ years in M&A.
• Proven track record handling significant domestic and cross-border transactions.
• Strong knowledge of corporate and securities law and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional negotiation, drafting and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead transaction teams and manage executive client relationships.
• Sharp business acumen and understanding of commercial drivers in M&A.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to reside in or relocate to Klerksdorp.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex M&A transactions from initiation to closing.
• Advise clients on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and restructurings.
• Oversee due diligence processes and draft key agreements.
• Provide strategic counsel on deal structuring, approvals and risk.
• Build relationships with corporate clients, banks and advisors.
• Mentor junior lawyers and supervise support staff in the M&A team.
• Stay updated on market trends and regulatory changes affecting M&A.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship management.
