Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the full litigation process.
  • Experience in Medical Negligence is advantageous.

Job description

MacRobert Attorneys is looking for a Senior Litigation Secretaryin the Medical Department of our Cape Town Branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage instructions, calls, and messages for Directors and Associates.
  • Handle queries related to deposits, payments, and support services (Accounts).
  • Type and prepare legal documents, affidavits, and correspondence.
  • Perform photocopying, binding, and document management.
  • Capture and close files on internal systems, update records.
  • Draft court documents and briefs, manage disbursements and invoicing.
  • Track fee sheets, credits/debits, and assist with debtor follow-ups.
  • Perform diary management, and manage appointments.

Requirements:

  • Matric or relevant qualification.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Litigation Secretary role (Medical Negligence experience advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of the full litigation process.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Dictaphone typing, administrative support, and using AJS.
  • Ability to reconcile accounts, manage invoicing, and handle unpaid invoices.
  • Strong communication and document management skills.
  • Professional, self-motivated, and deadline-driven.
  • Own or reliable transport.
