Instructional Design & Training Delivery
- Ability to design, develop, and deliver effective training programs for library staff, faculty, and students.
- Proficiency in e-learning tools and experience with pedagogical best practices.
Information & Digital Literacy Instruction
- Expertise in teaching research skills, citation management (e.g. EndNote), and database navigation.
- Ability to develop workshops on AI literacy, data literacy, and critical evaluation of sources.
Technology Integration & Digital Fluency
- Familiarity with emerging library technologies (e.g., institutional repositories, discovery tools, research analytics).
Leadership & Staff Development
- Skills in needs assessment to identify training gaps among library staff.
- Ability to mentor junior librarians and foster a culture of continuous learning.

- Strong presentation and facilitation skills for diverse audiences (students, faculty, researchers).

Requirements
M + 4 appropriate qualifications in Library and Information Sciences or a relevant B Degree (NQF level 7) and approximately 5 years' relevant experience where relevant experience includes:
- Previous experience working as a teacher at tertiary level or in a Senior Secondary School environment and/or an academic library.
- Previous experience in planning, coordinating and implementing Library Instruction programmes within the Higher Education environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of IT applications and electronic learning or library & information tools.
- Previous facilitation or training experience.
