Job summary

EnableSA is seeking a Senior Legislative Officer in Bhisho, South Africa to provide comprehensive legal, administrative, research, and governance support within a fast-paced political environment.

The role involves conducting legal research and analysis on legislation, monitoring regulatory changes, drafting opinions and governance documents, and liaising with government departments and stakeholders to ensure compliant governance practices.

Qualifications

• Requires tertiary qualification in Law (LLB preferred) and experience in legal/governance support.
• Strong legal drafting and professional business writing abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional legal and administrative support to Political Representatives.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on legislation, regulations, governance frameworks, public policy, and constitutional matters.
• Monitor legislative developments, legal amendments, and regulatory changes; provide summaries and guidance.
• Draft legal opinions, reports, briefing notes, memoranda, submissions, and governance documents.
• Interpret legislation, regulations, policies, and governance frameworks; support policy submissions and parliamentary questions.
• Liaise with public, stakeholders, government departments, regulatory bodies, and other organisations.
