Senior Legal Counsel

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in Kempton Park.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Report to: [Specify reporting line]
2. Areas of Responsibility: Support of DSV entities in South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa in all legal matters, contract support, corporate compliance, review processes of contracts in case of M&A transactions.
3. Success Criteria / KPIs: Timely responses, project execution, performance focus, and relationship building with stakeholders.
4. Tasks: Serve as the first local contact for legal queries, support local management, corporate housekeeping, monitor legislation changes, liaise with authorities, assist with debt recovery, draft and review contracts, support litigation, customs, export controls, report claims, communicate with external legal counsel, ensure compliance, and report on contracts and issues.

• Sales and Operational Teams

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• LLB Degree
• Minimum 5 years in-house counsel or legal practice
• Experience in transport and logistics
• Experience in international commercial negotiations
• Knowledge of Privacy Laws and ability to train stakeholders
• Fluent in English, oral and written
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong communication and project management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and across cultures
