Senior Legal Officer

We're seeking a Senior Legal Officer for our client, a prominent Investment Management and Private Equity firm listed on the JSE.

This role involves providing legal counsel across investment management, private equity, and corporate governance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Legal Advisory Services: Offer legal counsel on investment management, private equity, and corporate governance matters.
  2. Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and legal documents.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  4. Corporate Transactions: Assist in corporate transactions, including due diligence and document drafting.
  5. Litigation Management: Manage litigation matters and liaise with external counsel.
  6. Policy Development: Contribute to policy development for legal compliance and risk management.
  7. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. LLB degree and admitted attorney with 1-5 years post-article experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of corporate law, VAT Act, and Insolvency Act.
  3. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  4. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
