The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice, draft and review commercial agreements, and ensure compliance with critical legislation affecting the business. Key Responsibilities

• Legal Advisory & Compliance : Provide expert legal guidance on commercial legal matters, regulatory compliance, and legislative changes that impact the business.
• Contract Management : Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements to safeguard the company's interests.
• Regulatory & Legislative Insight : Proactively track and analyze new legislative enactments, amendments, and legal developments, ensuring the business remains compliant and well-informed.
• Litigation & Dispute Resolution : Assess legal risks, oversee dispute resolution, and manage litigation proceedings in collaboration with external legal counsel.
• Mergers & Acquisitions : Provide legal support in M&A transactions, including due diligence investigations.
• Intellectual Property Management : Oversee trademarks, copyright, and design protection matters.
• Restraint of Trade Enforcement : Advise on and enforce contractual obligations related to restraint of trade clauses.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education : LLB qualification (admitted attorney)
• Experience : 10+ years of post-articles experience in corporate commercial law
• Proven track record in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts
• Strong knowledge of NCA, CPA, POPIA, FICA, and company / consumer legislation
• Experience with tax law is an advantage
• Management : Prior managerial experience is preferable
