The School invites applications for the permanent position of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering.

Senior Lecturer Level: REQUIREMENTS
  • A Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering (with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering or a related field).
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Evidence of teaching, research, and successful higher degree supervision in Geotechnical Engineering.
ADVANTAGE:
  • NRF rating,
  • ECSA Professional or Candidate Engineering registration,
  • Evidence of generating research funding.
Lecturer Level: REQUIREMENTS
  • A Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering (with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering) or, exceptionally, a Master's degree with potential to pursue a Doctoral degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
ADVANTAGE:
  • ECSA Professional or Candidate Engineering registration.
  • Evidence of teaching, research/experience, and successful higher degree supervision in Geotechnical Engineering.
DUTIES

The successful applicant will be expected to lecture undergraduate courses in Geotechnical Engineering and other Civil Engineering courses, lead (Senior Lecturer) or lecture (Lecturer) in postgraduate courses, participate in academic administration, supervise research students, and develop a research program.
