Job Responsibilities
  • Teaching chemistry and physics to prospective science teachers in B.Ed and PGCE programs, focusing on primary and high school levels.
  • Supervising honours students and their research projects in science education.
  • Supervising postgraduate students at master's and doctoral levels.
  • Conducting assessments in teacher education programs.
  • Evaluating lesson presentations in campus and schools.
  • Engaging in research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and participating in community projects.
  • Serving on faculty committees and contributing to academic administration.
Candidate Requirements
  • Senior Lecturer: PhD in science education with specialization in physics and chemistry, experience in higher education teaching, supervision, and publication record.
  • Lecturer: Master's in science education with specialization in physics and chemistry, experience in supervision and research publication.
  • Postgraduate qualification in physical and natural sciences, with a background in chemistry and physics.
  • Undergraduate degree with physics or chemistry as majors.
  • Minimum five years' experience in teaching, research, and supervision.
  • Technology proficiency in science education tools.
  • Good communication skills; proficiency in English and Afrikaans advantageous.
