Job summary

University of KwaZulu-Natal seeks a Senior Lecturer in Educational Psychology for the Pietermaritzburg Campus. The appointee will contribute to teaching and research within Psychology, develop undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, and supervise postgraduate students.

Applicants should be able to teach generic Psychology modules and Educational Psychology Assessment, and assist in Master of Social Sciences in Educational Psychology curriculum development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Psychology or a related field is required.
• A professional Masters in Educational Psychology is required.
• At least 3 years of working and relevant experience in teaching, research, or industry.
• Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality journals.
• Track record of supervising postgraduate students (Masters/PhD).
• Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants as PI or team member.
• Evidence of registration with the Health Professions Council as an Educational Psychologist (3+ years post-registration).

Responsibilities

• Teach within psychology and Educational Psychology modules.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum development.
• Supervise postgraduate students (Masters and/or PhD).
• Contribute to Master of Social Sciences in Educational Psychology curriculum development.
