Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Teaching Computer Science modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Mentoring honours project students.
- Supervising master's and doctoral students.
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating the school's teaching and learning programs and activities.
Research
- Conducting scholarly research in the key areas of the School and research centre.
- Publishing in high-impact journals and books.
- Writing research proposals and securing funding.
- Engaging with the community through subject-related projects, innovation, and industry collaboration.
Minimum Requirements
Associate Professor
- A PhD (NQF Level 10) in Computer Science.
- At least five (5) years of teaching experience at university level.
- At least five (5) years of supervising master's and PhD students.
- A proven research track record in Computer Science.
- Community involvement with subject-related projects.
Senior Lecturer
- A PhD (NQF Level 10) in Computer Science.
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at university level.
- At least three (3) years of supervising master's and PhD students.
- A proven research track record in Computer Science.
- Community involvement with subject-related projects.
Added Advantages
- Membership of professional IT/CS/IS societies.
- Minimum of two (2) years of management experience.
