Senior Laboratory Chemist

Hiring : Senior Laboratory Chemist Adhesive Manufacturing Based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. Are you a curious, analytical, hands-on Chemist ready to make your mark in the adhesive industry?

Our client is looking for a Senior Laboratory Chemist to play a key role in product development, optimisation, and technical support.

You'll be the bridge between the lab and the real world — helping operations, supporting sales, and delivering real value to customers.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on innovation, enjoys solving technical problems, and wants to be involved in everything from R&D to customer visits.

What You'll Be Doing :

1. Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers
2. Optimise existing products for performance and cost
3. Develop new adhesive products from concept to rollout
4. Evaluate and approve alternative raw materials
5. Benchmark competitor products and identify areas for improvement
6. Support production, sales, QA, procurement, and even answer our DIY helpline from time to time
7. Investigate product complaints and help build technical documents, reports, and FAQs
8. Join the sales team on client visits to troubleshoot or innovate on-site

What You'll Need :

1. BSc in Chemistry or similar qualification
2. 5 years in Chemical manufacturing industry
3. Proven lab experience and work with a high degree of accuracy
4. Demonstrate a high level of conceptual and analytical thinking
5. Solid Excel and Word skills
6. Excellent written and verbal communication
7. A curious, independent, and solutions-driven personality
8. Ability to prioritise, collaborate, and get hands-on when it counts
