Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer (Expert) to lead a mainframe modernisation initiative. You will migrate legacy COBOL/PL/1 systems to modern Java-based, cloud-enabled solutions. The role combines technical depth with strategic decision-making and Agile leadership.

You will design migration plans, work with cloud teams, and drive delivery across multiple Agile teams in a dynamic environment. Flexible remote/on-site work is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in IT/Software Development or DevOps.
• Strong Java, OO design, multithreading, generics, exception handling.
• Extensive experience with Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot.

Responsibilities

• Lead legacy mainframe migration to Java and cloud-native solutions.
• Define migration strategies for COBOL/PL/1 to Java.
• Analyse systems, map dependencies, assess risks, create practical plans.
• Collaborate with cloud and infra teams to map components to cloud services.
• Drive delivery of complex projects with budgets, timelines, and quality.
• Lead Agile feature teams, foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to translate business needs into solutions.
• Oversee integration, testing, parallel runs, and QA.
