Job summary

Communicate Finance in Gauteng, South Africa, seeks an experienced investment accounting professional. You will manage month-end close, prepare management accounts, and oversee fund accounting activities including NAV calculations and investor reporting.

Responsibilities include governance, audits, and enhancements to processes and automation. The role requires 5+ years in investment or fund accounting, strong IFRS knowledge, Excel expertise, and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in investment accounting, fund accounting, asset management, fund administration, or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with investment portfolios, fund structures, and reconciliations.
• NAV calculation and investor reporting experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform fund accounting activities, including investment transaction processing and reconciliations
• Calculate and review NAVs and other fund performance reporting metrics
• Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records for investment vehicles and related entities
• Reconcile bank accounts, investment portfolios, and cash positions
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support annual audits and the preparation of annual financial statements
• Manage VAT, tax, and statutory compliance requirements
• Monitor treasury activities, cash flow requirements, and liquidity forecasts
• Maintain strong financial controls and governance processes
• Support transaction execution through financial analysis and accounting assessments
• Liaise with auditors, regulators, advisors, and other key stakeholders
• Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and automation initiatives

Skills & Experience

• Exposure to private equity, alternative investments, or investment holding structures preferred
• Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working on accounting systems and investment reporting platforms
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
