Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) required.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• BCom Honours preferred.
• CA(SA) advantageous.
• 4–6 years accounting experience in Insurance or Financial Services.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice on interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries.
• Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for designated area of financial control.
• Prepare and distribute income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and deliver financial guidelines and protocols for regulatory compliance.
• Investigate incidents and provide expert advice to senior colleagues; minimize risk exposures and ensure regulatory standards.
• Ensure the organization is not exposed to risk by using risk management systems within designated area.
• Provide financial modelling input into business cases, costs, and schedules for growth.
• Conduct data research and analysis for key themes and trends.
• Prepare and coordinate various data and analytics reports.
• Deliver prescribed outcomes for financial control area.

Duties:

• Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.
• Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control.
• Manage the preparation and distribution of specific segments of the organization's financial reporting, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and deliver financial guidelines and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
• Investigate all kinds of incidents and reports and provide expert advice to more senior colleagues. Minimize risk exposures and ensure adherence with regulatory standards by working with all internal functions to make sure compliance programs are properly implemented.
• Ensure the organization is not exposed to undue risks by using risk management systems to achieve specific goals within a designated area of the business.
• Provide financial modelling input into business cases, costs, and schedules to support growth in the business.
• Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
• Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.
• Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control.

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
• BCom Honours
• CA(SA) is advantageous

Experience:

• Articles will be advantageous
• 4–6 years accounting experience, preferably within the Insurance or Financial Services sector
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Income Tax and VAT
• Experience with fixed assets, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Experience using accounting software

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and financial analysis
• Experience using accounting software
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Confidence engaging with senior management
• The ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment
