Introduction

ATNS is seeking candidates to deliver Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) training courses and research product offerings aligned with the ATA and broader ATNS deliverables to enable the most effective and efficient delivery of training solutions for internal and selected international clients within and outside the ATM community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Observe and study new instructional techniques for conducting classes and implement measures to improve training delivery.
  2. Conduct training content analysis (TCA) on training product offerings (as and when required) and provide the necessary training interventions.
  3. Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) on ATNS ATSEP, external ANSPs or CAAs and support staff (as and when required) and provide the necessary training proposals.
  4. Assist and coordinate the installation/implementation of engineering training systems at the ATA.
  5. Interpret performance, reliability, maintainability, availability and monitoring of ATM/CNS systems for statistical purposes.
  6. Design survey instruments to determine the validity, sufficiency and quality of product offerings.
  7. Research future ATM/CNS systems and provide solutions to enable the department to remain competitive in terms of being the preferred training provider.
  8. Compile comprehensive reports and implementation plans on research conducted in the external professional environment (formal and informal training, conferences, seminars, etc.).
  9. Apply appropriate research methodologies for the research and analyse results/conclusions to formulate new concepts and ideas.
  10. Produce research papers that will benefit the aviation fraternity.
  11. Assessment of students is conducted in compliance with QMS procedures and curricula/syllabi.
  12. Ability to present selected core and elective courses outside the area of expertise (i.e. Communication/Navigation/Surveillance).
  13. Create and moderate assessment tools and workbooks for all ATSEP courses.
  14. Develop unit training course materials to meet the performance needs of the ATSEP and system support requirements.
  15. Moderate course materials within the field of knowledge to determine validity, sufficiency, content and quality.
  16. Evaluate qualification program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  17. Provide support and guidance to ATNS Technology and Information related to On-the-job training instruction actions and checks to support Competency Based Training and Assessment.
  18. Provide mentorship to the engineering instructors and support personnel within the area of responsibility.
  19. Continuously engage Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on future training systems and recommend the necessary training interventions to ATA management.
  20. Collaborate with tertiary institutions on the development of research-based training solutions that will enable a seamless transition of students from academic to work environment.
Minimum Qualifications

B-Tech / B. Eng. / BSc. Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering or equivalent.

Train the Trainer and OJTI qualification from an approved institution.

Minimum of five years' experience in course presentation, research, operation, maintenance and engineering support of ATM/CNS systems and associated training systems.
